"to model self-acceptance is to *actually* accept yourself" this feels very true and why so many people say if you want to be of service to the world, cultivating an aligned and contented individual relationship with yourself/to the world is foundational <3

as someone who has struggled with acne for ten years, i find this hard to digest and integrate into my psyche. you mention that "In the case of our vessel, when you hold your insecurities in front of your face and learn to accept, embrace, and love them as you would your favourite qualities about yourself, you can wear them with the same pride and ease you would carry what you adore about yourself."

but what do you do when your biggest insecurity is on your face? how do you learn to accept, embrace, and love acne?

This really really helped to read, thank you. I've been struggling to feel OK in my body for the past several years, since it felt like my body started to break down on me in my 20s. I find it so hard nowadays to do literally anything without feeling so many negative feelings towards my body for not working how it used to or how it "should."

But maybe if I accept it and meet it where it's at, without constantly antagonizing it, I can start to take care of it better with less effort and resistance, like you said.
